Conflicts In The War on Covid-19

In any large conflict battles may be lost; the singular most important factor is the war is won by the good side.

The Coronavirus aka. covid -19, China virus, SARS-Cov-2, Rona virus is a world war where everyone is on the same side; well maybe not always China or regrettably the USA. Battles are being fought based on the best available intelligence, but unfortunately the virus as an enemy is highly skilled in resistance moves. We are still learning and adapting to overcome its strengths and seek out its weaknesses.

The other enemy is the fifth columnist that has appeared in the form of the aggressive journalist. Just for the record Wikipedia explained this group as; A fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group from within, usually in favour of an enemy group or nation. The activities of a fifth column can be overt or clandestine. Forces gathered in secret can mobilise openly to assist an external attack. Currently this in the form of the highly charged journalist desperate to wrong foot the government, pour scorn on issues and criticise virtually every move they make.

It is having a detrimental effect, whether planned or not. The aggressive interview style, the constant harping on issues yet to be resolved is causing most to switch off the news. The government daily TV briefing lasts until the journalists start to ask questions. Even the campaigns against the enemy are hampered by devolved units leaking information for political gain.

And now we learn the ambulance chasing fraternity who seek damages from the NHS are gearing up for a massive litigation campaign to extract millions from this incredible organisation. Capt. Tom’s valiant fund raising efforts could all disappear as a tiny plug in the massive hole the legal profession could create.

Each day we learn of the courage and selflessness of members of society in ‘manning the pumps’ and helping the less fortunate. We also learn of the skulduggery from individuals to large corporations aiming to make a fast buck or advantageously manipulate the system. And whilst we learn of many countries aiming to release the vaccine free to the world, others refuse aiming instead to make money out of the vaccine. History repeats itself, this is penicillin situation all over again.

The aftermath will reveal the positive plans for the future and hopefully eradicate the weaknesses, the blamers, the weak links. Maybe Davos, which was massively a waste of time this year could be reset with global plan for recovery and avoid the infamous junket approach that it had become.

The meandering thoughts of someone with too much time on his hands. Tending to see the obscure and irrelevant in most events I have been forced to record this by family members as a means of diverting attention away from them. But I see their plan.
