Delightful issue arising in France where striking peeps have been told not to use English in their protest placards.
Already you can picture the sign writers recoding new placards protesting against the non use of English. “Zut alors, up with this we will not put, mon ami.”
The team in France dedicated to developing new French words to replace English is working overtime. So far they have limited English words in the French dictionary to 500, whereas the English language contains around 25,000 French words, most of which we pronounce very badly.
