The wonderful world of technology has created a vast array of services and applications beyond our wit just 10 years ago.
Smart technology has given the technical suppliers a foothold in global markets that are creating huge wealth. They constantly vie with the market place in a bid to create and subsequently retain their dominance. This has created a new set of rules, not always seen as a good thing.
The big boys are notably American. Their rules apply, unquestionably. Thus Google can influence your purchase decision and record your whereabouts. Facebook can allow unfettered comments that defy social ethics, Apple can refuse to unlock the phones of criminals or terrorists when requested by the FBI., They can also refuse to support the NHS during moments of an intense global crisis, insisting that track and trace has to be their private system and not one created by the NHS thus keeping their intelligence intact.
The question to be asked now is with the secretive background nature of social media, where data is king, is this really why the USA are leading the condemnation of Huawei.
